When Kate and Russ met with me back in the spring they told me that since they were not having a big wedding, photos were very important to them. So, we discussed not only doing an engagement shoot Friday evening, but also one early Saturday morning. Our original plan didn’t completely come to fruition due to not being able to gain access to a location, so instead we ventured around East Austin. My favorite spot? Hillside Farmacy. I have not had the time to stop in and eat but the food looks and smells incredible! It also helps that there is SO much to work with inside the building.
Since Saturday was their actual wedding day, it made for a very LONG day. But it was worth every minute. We had a great time and it was such a wonderful way to start the day!

What an incredible couple of days! I first met Kate and Russ after many email exchanges while I was in Belize. Kate was super patient about my response time and agreed to meet up after my return. We met up at Spiderhouse coffee and chatted for what seemed like hours about their wedding and giving suggestions of places in Austin to check out – since they’re both from out of town.
Since their wedding is more of an elopement, which having done one myself, I was super excited. We agreed to do several “engagement” photo sessions before the wedding and of course cover all the fun stuff they had planned for the day.
I loved every minute of the last two days!
Enjoy the first of several blog posts. ~s.
Qiong and Tristan are such a sweet couple! We started our shoot out at the Steeping Room – the location of their first date and the start of this adorable relationship.
From there we made our way around Zilker Park and the trails.
I had such a great time with them and I am super excited about their wedding in October!
